Test input events

The default application running on the D7 provides a way to test input events via GUI. To test via CLI, run evtest on the target shell.

root@imx8qxp-d7:~# evtest
No device specified, trying to scan all of /dev/input/event*
Available devices:
/dev/input/event0: system-controller:keys
/dev/input/event1: d7-buttons
/dev/input/event2: st1232-touchscreen
/dev/input/event3: rotary-encoder
Select the device event number [0-3]:

Then enter the device event you want to test. This will show information about the selected device and then print the events that the device produces when they occur. To test events use the input.

Below snippet shows an example to test buttons:

root@imx8qxp-d7:~# evtest
No device specified, trying to scan all of /dev/input/event*
Available devices:
/dev/input/event0: system-controller:keys
/dev/input/event1: d7-buttons
