Introduction
The D7 SDK I/O library provides an interface for interacting with various hardware I/O systems available on the Veethree D7 platform, including digital I/O, analog sensors, PWM input/output, and 4-20 mA interfaces.
Key Features
- Digital input and output with support for various modes
- PWM signal generation (output) and measurement (input)
- Analog sensor reading with multiple sensor types (voltage, resistance, temperature)
- 4-20 mA current loop interfaces
- Event-based notification system for asynchronous I/O
Architecture
The I/O Library is organized into several key components:
- Digital Input/Output - Interface for binary digital signals
- PWM Input/Output - Interface for PWM signal generation and measurement
- Analog - Interface for analog sensor reading
- 4-20 mA - Interface for 4-20 mA current loop interfaces
- Events - System for asynchronous I/O event handling
Best Practices
- Always call init() before using interfaces that require it
- Release resources when they're no longer needed with release()
- Use the profile_builder to create valid analog sensor profiles
- Check for errors when performing I/O operations
- Configure appropriate event handlers for asynchronous operations
See the I/O library examples page for complete code examples.
