Veethree Technologies and Undheim Systems partner to deliver new enhancements to Undheim’s JPOS dynamic positioning system designed for the Marine market.
Undheim Systems manufacture dynamic positioning systems. Their robust and simple to use ‘JPOS’ dynamic positioning system gives the ability for boats to keep a fixed position, and hold a constant speed.
When Undheim decided to expand the “JPOS” compact DP-0 system they were looking to add the option of a smaller user interface screen to complement its existing larger screens, and approached Veethree, a leading manufacturer of Marine Electronics, after seeing the T5 – 5” colour display.
Stein Undheim of Undheim Systems said:
‘We had a number of requirements: 5” size, IP67, marine grade, CAN-bus, suitable cost, Linux platform (to accommodate our existing software), modern look with slim bezel and simple mounting in boats. After searching and trying several options we found that only the Veethree T5 met all of our needs.’
Utilising the Veethree software development environment, Undheim rapidly adapted their application to function on the T5 CAN Bus display.
Stein continued:
‘The Veethree team worked with us as part of our Engineering team supporting us where needed. Now, after we started to deliver systems with these displays, we can truly say it has been a great choice, complementing our system and enabling us to deliver the world’s most cost-effective DP-0 system.’
Laurence Jenkins of Veethree Technologies said:
‘It was great to be chosen as a technology partner by Undheim and we have been able to bring our expertise to the project and proud that the T5 display is working so well in the most challenging of marine environments.’
