First Fully Round, Edge-to-Edge, CAN Display is DAME Award Nominated

24th October 2019

We are very pleased to announce the nomination of our brand new, fully round, 3” touch display, the R3, has been nominated for the DAME Design Award at METSTRADE in Amsterdam.

The globally recognised DAME Design Award focuses on everything that is important about marine equipment, such as the art and science of design, aesthetics, functionality and innovation. The judges panel consists of naval architects, boat, interior and industrial designers, as well as user experts.

As a new addition to the existing range of ruggedised CAN Displays, the revolutionary R3 aims to modernise traditional analogue gauges by offering a fully round, edge-to-edge touch screen display giving it the ability to show a number of gauge types and styles in one unit. With completely customisable graphics OEMs have the ability to custom create a screen design from replicating traditional analogue gauge styling to more modern designs, changing looks and functions to suit any application.

James Cope, Veethree Group Marketing Manager said: “It is a great honour to be nominated for the DAME Design Award amongst the high calibre of innovative new products. We are really excited about this new display and proud to be able to show it, a testament to the hard work of our Engineering teams.”

Importantly, the R3 can be viewed in full sunlight whilst offering protection from the elements being sealed to meet IP 67 standards. It meets the need for tough, flexible instrumentation while offering high performance and design specifications.

James Cope continued: “The R3 represents a step change for Marine Instrumentation, combining traditional design sensitivities with modern technologies. It will bring exciting possibilities for designers to rethink gauge clusters and helm designs for the demands of modern and traditional users alike.”

You can find us on Stand 12.521 at METS between the 19th and 22nd of November with 2 samples of the DAME nominated R3, ready to demonstrate and offer more information.
